STARMINE (Pop'n Mixxx)
----------------------
Song: Ryu*
Cut: N/A. This is the whole thing ^_^;
Steps: k//eternal (chaosdolphin@hotmail.com)
Art: k//eternal (Tran from NG2Arts)

INTRO: Because you pretend you care.
-----
Well, people didn't like POKEMON ieru ka NEO so much (the song I mean, the steps were well-recieved enough to make it to finals), so I guess you can say I learned my lesson (5) ^_^;

Hopefully people like this song a bit more...

So you say, Starmine was in DDR? Nahhh, this is the Pop'n version, and it's quite different in ways. But it's still good in my opinion. (Hated it the first few listens for messing up the song... then I looped it for two hours or so and two hours or so later I thought it was awesome.)

Why did I enter this song in TM6? I have no freaking clue, but I hope you like it.

ART: It's pretty, kinda.
---
I intended to just slap something together and leave it at that. How funny life sometimes is.

Still didn't take long to do (maybe 30 minutes, tops?), but it's pretty nice quality if you ask me.

Tran has fans, because it's just not right otherwise. But I know they're the wrong kind of fans. I also know they're both behind her hands in the banner. I'm lazy. Sorry.

STEPS: The part that actually vaguely matters.
-----

LIGHT (5)
-----
Fairly basic stuff. A bunch of freeze arrows but hopefully not overused, a bunch of reasonably simple jumps (it's 5-foot after all)... some alternation, one turn. Maybe you'll think I oversimplified the rhythm on the slowdown. There just aren't too many ways to do it, though.

Anyhow, nothing fancy. It's Light and I don't want to throw people off.

STANDARD (7)
--------
A lot tougher than the Light steps, it's made to prepare players somewhat for the Heavy version. 8ths are fairly abundant, and at 174 BPM, they might be a little tricky for players new to 7-foot level. The song starts with alternating 8ths, but moves on to more complex (but still short) patterns reminiscent of those on Heavy.

Some sections feel a little lopsided (like they tend toward one foot more than the other), but are quickly followed by a "mirror" section which tends toward the other foot and uses similar patterns, balancing things out.

Designed to be fun and challenging for advanced Standard or new Heavy players without being overkill.

HEAVY (8)
-----
Like probably most files here, the Heavy chart is the focus... intended to be action-heavy but not overly difficult, hopefully most players can enjoy this one.

The chart dumps you right into the action with a left-tending section, followed by a right-tending one to balance. The first three measures involve repetition of the same pattern, but when you're playing, it comes off extremely naturally. A similar technique is used on the "balancing" segment after it.

The slow (BPM-wise) section's 16th patterns introduce the main rhythm of the chart, which is then used in different ways in the "normal-speed" section following it. Jumps and a few freezes are mixed in to add variety.

The alternating 8th stream includes two double-steps to mix things up a bit and transition between sides, and the "down stream" can be played either as a series of double-steps or as a turn (although I tend to prefer the latter).

The 2nd slow section provides a short break with simple rhythms, contrasting with the first which is meant to get you into the rhythm of the song. After this, the BPM goes back to 174, but the rhythm has changed a bit. This pattern (similar to that used in the Standard chart) builds into a small 8th stream which marks the end.

Phew, I'm babbling. Anyhow, I hope you like it.

CREDITS: What? They don't scroll?
-------
Ryu*: For kicking ass with Happy Hardcore (or in this case "Cutecore"), even if TAKA is better at it.
NG2Arts: For drawing Tran. I can't.
Konami: DDR wins. IIDX wins. Pop'n... I've never played it, but I'm told it wins too.
Sivus and co.: TM is a lot of work after all...
Me: I made this. Oh the joy.
You: For playing the song (you did, right?) and bothering to read this crap... uh, I mean profound literature.

FIN: No, not the swimtastic kind.
---
Hopefully at least someone will enjoy the file. I'm sure it'll get shafted by the -10 penalty, but you know what? I couldn't care less. I hope everyone will remember that TM is an event based solely around fun, and it will stay that way until the end. What? This IS the end?
